Rocky Hill Town Theatre Jekyll & Hyde Review

by: Theresa Longo –Veteran theater fan–

The Rocky Hill Town Theatre is currently running the musical JEKYLL & HYDE.  People leaving the show have commented that it is of Broadway quality!  After just two performances, the cast has received standing ovations from the audience who have witnessed a theatrical event.  The caliber of people in the cast is phenomenal.  This should not be called community theatre, but a professional ensemble.  I want to shout from the rooftops about the incredible quality this show entails.  The quality is seen from the multi-talented cast to the fabulous set design, to the inspiring orchestra right down to the detailed, accurate costumes.  Every detail of the show was carefully considered along with every step of the choreography.  Most cast members are studying theatre and music and seek to become equity actors.  The set design is breathtaking.  The orchestra is right on the mark with mood, scene changes, and tempo which sent chills down my spine.  There should be talent scouts in the audience to discover these actors and musicians that grace this stage.  I would compare the quality of this show to The Hartford Stage and Goodspeed Opera House.  Missing this show is like missing the movie of the year.
